Welcome to the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church of South London.
St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church was founded in August 2021 under the Diocese of UK & Ireland of Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church in UK. The first Holy mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Geevarghese Thandayth at our first location in SM4 6BH near Morden, South London. Our vision is to respond to those who are suffering and in need, without discrimination, and enable them to improve their own lives and communities. We aim to help them live with dignity, respect and hope. Our goal is to turn the hearts of youth and families to God and each other, and develop our God-given potential in order to win in every area of our lives. We strive to build a foundation in the community with Sunday School, Women’s League & Youth Association. Later, in December 2023, our services moved to St Swithun’s Church, CR84LB near Purley.
