Martha Mariam Samajam, the Women’s Wing of St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in South London, where we are united in faith, service, and empowerment. Our organization brings together women from across our parish who share a common commitment to living out the Gospel through meaningful action and spiritual devotion. Guided by our inspiring motto “Pray, Faith, Act, and Shine in Christ’s love” (Kristhu Snehathil Prarthikuka, Vishvasikkuka, Pravarthikuka, Prakashikkuka), we embrace four foundational pillars that shape everything we do: prayer as the foundation of our spiritual life, faith as the anchor of our beliefs, action as the expression of our commitment, and shining as witnesses to Christ’s transforming love in the world. Through regular gatherings for prayer and fellowship, charitable initiatives that serve those in need, educational programs that deepen our understanding of our rich Syriac Orthodox heritage, and active participation in both church ministries and wider community outreach, we strive to uplift and inspire one another. Our mission is to foster a supportive and welcoming environment where women of all ages can nurture their personal faith journey, serve their communities with compassion and generosity, empower and strengthen their families through Christian values, and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ, thereby making a meaningful and lasting impact in the world around us.
