On Wednesday, April 1st, Rev. Fr. Jogi Mathew celebrated a special Maundy Thursday service at St. Mary’s JSOC in London. Maundy Thursday is often referred to as the “Thursday of Mysteries” (Hamsho d’Roze or Pethro). It is one of the most sacred days of the liturgical year, commemorating the Last Supper, the institution of the Eucharist, and Jesus’ washing of His disciples’ feet. This day emphasizes the Last Supper and the profound mystery of the Holy Body and Blood being offered for the first time.
